1st ATMP @Charité Symposium

Tuesday, 19.11.2024 - 12.00pm

Dear Colleagues

We are pleased to invite you to join us for the 1st ATMP @Charité Symposium, which will take place on November 19, 2024 at the VKU Forum in Berlin Mitte.

The Research Structure Unit for Cell and Gene Therapy was founded in 2024 to support and accelerate the clinical translation of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) at the Charité and associated institutions, including the MDC, DRFZ, etc.. The Research Structure Unit aims to facilitate and coordinate networks and provide a central contact point for ATMP inquiries at the Charité. We, as its Operative Board, will support ATMP projects and the manufacturing sites as well as coordinate GMP-specific issues together with the complete in-house GMP capacities. We are supported by a User and Expert Committee’s Speaker Council comprising PIs with longstanding expertise in different areas associated with ATMP development, production and/or application.

The Research Structure Unit intends to showcase ongoing and planned ATMP projects and the supporting infrastructures for cell and gene therapies at Charité, BIH and partner institutes with this symposium. Fostering exchange between scientists, clinicians and these infrastructures is a central aim, all focused to assist clinical ATMP translation. We invite everyone to take part in the new User and Expert Committee (UEC) that will support and shape the interest area for translational cell and gene therapies in Berlin. You can register for the UEC onsite and after the event.

A symposium highlight will be handover of the leadership for the Berlin Center for Advanced Therapies (BeCAT) from Prof. Petra Reinke to Prof. Annette Künkele-Langer, both of whom are esteemed experts in the field of cell and gene therapy. Prof. Reinke co-founded BeCAT in 2018 and has played a pivotal role in its establishment and growth as its Scientific Director.

We look forward to welcoming you to this symposium as a starting point for ongoing exchange. We invite you to join our user & expert committee, a valuable platform for promoting cell and gene therapy at Charité. We hope for your participation in this exciting and inspiring event. Ample time will be provided for discussions, questions, and networking.

With very best wishes,

Leila Amini, Uta Höpken, Annette Künkele-Langer, Martin Vaegler. Operative Board of the Research Structure Unit for Cell and Gene Therapy
